Publication Ethics

Medico Edge Publications abide by the best practices on ethical matters, errors, corrections, and retractions. The dedicated Editorial board keeps the ethics at utmost priority in order to prevent the publication malpractice. Any kind of unethical behavior is not acceptable, and Open Journal of Research does not tolerate plagiarism in any form. Authors submitting articles to Journal affirm that manuscript contents are original. Providing an open access platform for the worldwide readership, we strictly avoid and discourage the plagiarism in any form or any kind of unethical behavior. At the time submission, author/s must state the originality of the content, written consent of patients, statement of conflict of interest. Authors must also ensure that the same manuscript is not under consideration or in publication process in any other journal.

We strongly recommend to all the parties to adhere to the best publication procedure ethics from COPE code of conduct for journal editors and guidelines for International Council of Medical Journal Editors. Considering the same Medico Edge Publications has outlined the duties of editors, authors, reviewers as:

Duties and standards for Editor:

  • The Editorial Board must keep information pertaining to all submitted manuscripts confidential.
  • The Editorial Board is responsible for making publication decisions of acceptance, rejection or request modification for all submitted manuscripts.
  • The Editorial Board must strive to meet the needs of readers and authors.
  • The Editorial Board must evaluate manuscripts only for their intellectual content with the use of appropriate software/s. Board must check the content manually before ensuring the peer review.
  • Editorial board must ensure the Fair and Quality review for all the submitted articles.
  • The Editorial Board must strive to constantly improve their journals.
  • The Editorial Board must maintain the integrity of the academic record.
    The Editorial Board must always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed.

Duties and standards for Authors:

  • Medico Edge Publication encourages all the authors to follow the international publication ethics voluntarily. To abide by the originality of work, contribution of each author in order to prevent malpractice like ghost author, guest authors etc.
  • Authors must strictly follow the standard guideline given in the instruction to authors for the preparation of manuscript before submission.
  • Authors must certify that their manuscripts are their original work. Plagiarism, Duplicate, Data Fabrication and Falsification, and Redundant publications are forbidden.
     Authors must certify that the manuscript has not previously been published and is not currently being considered for publication elsewhere.
    If the authors have used the work and/or words of others, the authors must ensure that the work and/or words of others are appropriately cited or quoted and identify all sources used in the creation of their manuscripts.
  • When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author's obligation to promptly notify the Journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper.
  • Authors must notify of any conflicts of interest.
  • Authors should acknowledge all sources of data used in the research and cite publications that have been influential in the research work.

Duties and standard of Reviewers

  • Reviewers of Medico Edge Publications are expected to meet the challenges of global research scenario and have thorough standard publication ethical guidelines.
  • Reviewers are expected to keep all the data, results and information, highly confidential; pertaining to the manuscript.
  • Reviewers must clearly mention and bring into the knowledge of editorial board for the reason of rejection or modification required in the manuscript before publication. Reviewers must also ensure the editorial board for the review the revised/ modified manuscript is necessary or not.
  • Reviewers must evaluate the manuscript on the basis of intellect content, significance, and relevance of work.
  • Reviewers must communicate to the editor if the review of the manuscript cannot be done in the stipulated time.
